TALENTIME BY YASMIN AHMAD....LOVE THE MOVIE AHH...(THE SONGS STILL PLAYING IN MY MIND) =D

Last Monday, me and Kok Chern (my Empire and Allies buddy) went to watch the free screening of the movie "Talentime" in Main Block HELP UC. It was a project done by the Malaysian studies students, whom incidentally, was a fellow contest mate of mine for the CIMA GBC 2011.

Anyway, the movie is about a school that is organizing a talentime show. Along the way, the various students' lives were captured on camera..the theme of love, death, racial and religious harmony, growing up and being strong in the advent of adversity is the theme of the movie.

What's more, the nice forbidden love story between Mahesh (deaf Indian boy) and the Malay-Irish girl..beautiful but sad ending. Above it all, the story of whizkid Hafiz and his mum who was suffering from brain tumour is the most touching part in the movie..

Grief never grow old

Well, as you are reading this post at the moment, the people in Manila, Philippines, Samoa and American Samoa is in grief. The past few days the Philippines is battered by a typhoon, causing a huge flood in Manila. Dozens dead and many homeless. At 1.40am Malaysian time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.00 on the Richter scale struck somewhere near Samoa, causing a tsunami that is 3 feet high to hit the shores. Damage is quite extensive. The American Govt has declared American Samoa as a disaster zone. And jsut now,6.14pm Malaysian Time, an earthquake struck Southern Sumatera with a strength of 7.90 on the Richter scale. No tsunami was reported, though the USGS issued a warning for tsunami. Makes me wonder if we are ever thankful for what we have and what GOd gave us in life.
